The Senior Band has been invited to be part of the St. Stephen Christmas Parade. The students are interested...stay tuned....we need to find out if everyone will be available. The parade is on Friday night, November 14th.....brrrrr!!!!
We have had our instrument rental meeting and most students are ready to go.
Don't forget to bring your instruments to school on Monday, Oct. 6 for your first day of Green ASAP! Our Christmas Concert will be on Monday, December 16th at 6:30 pm in the SSMS auditorium. Students need to be in the Music room by 6:15 with their instruments and music. Concert Dress is all black, but black and white or black and Christmas colors is acceptable.
The concert will also be performed on Tuesday, December 17th at 9:15 for the school. Any parents unable to attend the evening concert are more than welcome to attend this presentation. St. Stephen High School is presenting “The Wizard of Oz” in March 2014.
The Munchkins will be chosen from students at St. Stephen Middle School. Auditions for the Munchkin parts will take place in the SSMS auditorium on Tuesday, October 22ndduring ASAP. Students must memorize and present a nursery rhyme or poem (8 line minimum). Students will be asked to sing in groups of 3 during the audition as well. Students can prepare themselves by familiarizing themselves with “We’re Off to See the Wizard”. We will be looking for students who can get into character and sing and dance. Students who miss rehearsals without an excuse or present any misbehavior will be excused from the play. COMMITMENT This is a HUGE commitment for students and parents. Successful Munchkins will practice during White ASAP at SSMS in November and December. Students will practice at the high school from 3:30-5:00 pm on the following dates (students can take a bus from SSMS to SSHS at 3:15): Monday, January 6th and January 13th Monday and Tuesday, January 27th and 28th All Mondays and Tuesdays in February Daily rehearsals after March break until the performances: March 22-24 and March 27-29 (Friday evening, Saturday matinee and evening, and Sunday matinee) **THERE IS A $50 FEE FOR EACH ‘MUNCHKIN’ TO HELP COVER COSTUME COSTS** It has come to my attention that the rehearsal schedule hasn't been updated. I have been updating regularly but I guess I haven't followed all the correct steps. This issue should be solved in the next few days. Students will be notified as to which day to come to the music room.
